Just a thought of visiting this Book to see people's thoughts, ideas and aspirations, griefs and joys, successes and failures ...and then offer Mass for them....
The Global Financial Crisis has frustrated many souls... to you all my brothers and sisters, be assured of my prayers for a better tomorrow.
Find consolation in the worlds of Nelson Madiba Mandela who once said that "A VISION without ACTION is merely day dreaming, while ACTION without a VISION is time wasting, however, a vision accompanied by action can change the world..." Not all is lost, keep your vision alive by actively working towards it... God will guide you. God Bless you

Hi there :)

Visiting the site, particularly the 3dpanorama, brought back some good old memories.

I used to be part of the parish [I was an altar server] before I moved to Portugal in 2002.
Lovely site, keep up the good work . Just had a look at the school: oh the memories

I was wondering if Susan Shuttleworth is still the organist. It would be interesting to speak with her as I am not seriously considering a career as an Organist. If it is possible, could you send me her email.

Best Regards and God Bless
Patrick Johansson

Very informative website. I was a member of the Swadlincote parish until I emigrated in 1969, and recently had the pleasure of revisiting while I was on holiday in England.

Visitor's comments on our website:

I am writing to comment on the recent news regarding attempts by the Catholic Church in the UK to bypass legislation governing adoption by gay couples. Personally, I believe that children should be brought up in a natural and stable environment where they have normal parents. Furthermore, I am very much against cruelty to children to the extent that I give money every month to the NSPCC.

However, I have to admit to being somewhat dismayed by recent news. I draw your attention to other less recent news regarding attempts by local authorities in various countries to root out priests within the Catholic Church guilty of abusing and molesting children. I draw your attention to a recent BBC Panorama programme showing proof that one Cardinal Josef Ratzinger signed official Vatican policy documents advising bishops not to cooperate with local authorities in child abuse cases, but to simply move these priests to different parishes. Rather than being arrested by Interpol as he should have been, judging by the seriousness of these crimes and the attempts to cover them up, this criminal is now your Pope, The Bishop of Rome.

Therefore, rather than concentrating a significant effort on circumventing adoption legislation that you don’t agree with, I strongly recommend - if you are indeed sincere in wanting to protect children – that you “look a bit closer to home” so to speak. You would be well advised to concentrate on fixing the policies of the Vatican, and that means concentrating on weeding out paedophile priests and bringing them to justice in addition to bringing criminals like Pope Benedict XVI to justice and preventing more criminals within the Catholic Church aiding and abetting evil child molesters.

Somehow, I do not suspect Jesus Christ would have approved of your policies. I also suspect that after approximately 2000 years of war crimes, persecution, oppression and crimes against humanity by the Catholic Church, that Jesus’ forgiveness would by now be wearing rather thin in the knowledge that crimes against children are still being committed by “The Faithful” in the highest echelons of the Catholic Church to this very day.

Thank you for placing a warning of the scam, using your address. It was very helpful. I receive so many of these fraudulent e-mails, I guess it goes with the territory of working for a Christian organisation.
God Bless you in your ministry.
