I was watching the news when a story ran about a young woman dying of water toxicity. The newscaster commented “who knew that too much water could kill you?” I knew.

I’d remembered hearing about Matt’s story many years ago… It’d always stuck with me throughout my 20s, specifically throughout college.

I think America has become a bit of an angrier place since Matt’s left us. We could use his sweetness in the world. I know that he’s watching down on us now with God. Bless your family.

It\'s been a while, and I was thinking of html which made me think of your website, and also of you. You should be turning 40 this year. You should have some kids, a wife, some gray hair... we never will *the mom and the aunties, it\'s not allowed!* I hope you can see how everyone is doing. You left a hole, but we keep on going on, missing you but remembering everything about you fondly, and with so much love. My Dearest Matt, I love you more than words can say..  I have not written to you in awhile, but I think of you and wish you were with us every day.

It has been a very long and painful journey without you honey, but as I promised you I am working tirelessly to help our young people, and adults, to understand the hidden and horrifying dangers of hazing.

I cannot believe how long it has been since I have heard you say, hi mom.  I miss that so much.  I miss your hugs, your smile, your laugh, your quick wit and sense of humor.  I miss every minute of the life you never had. What I miss most is the adult relationship you and Travis never got to have.  He misses his big bro so much.

Andrew and Erwin were in town for Christmas and surprised me with a visit late the night of Sister Christmas.  It was so amazing Matt, it felt like you were with us, and I\'m sure you were.  We laughed and remembered you until 4:30 am, it was the greatest gift!
