Do you have any comments?

I wanted to honor his sacrifice, and all the men who gave their lives for country. My uncle's name is Charles D. Oglesby. He was only 22 yrs. old on his 2nd tour. He was due to be home in august of that same year. I wanted to see if anyone remembers my uncle Charlie? He was army first infantry The Big red One. He was a spec 4 whic I don't know what means, but I know from stories my mother and grandmother shared, about the day my grandmother looked out the window, and she saw officers, she took the news of her son's death so hard, she was hospitalized, and never really got over it. My mom also had such a hard time loosing her only brother, she still cries today when their birthdays come around. It is always hard to loose someone so close, but His lose has affected my family still today. Can anyone remember my uncle? It would mean so much to know he was remembered.

Joyce, You are a part of C. 2/16. It is because of your efforts, that we have the wonderful reunions, that exist today. Don\'t let, that which you have gone through in your married life, detract from who you are. You and your children still belong, with the families of C. 2/16 families. We are a much more positive group these days. Yes, we still suffer from \"PTSD\" and to this day, some are still taking their own lives. But, it isn\'t because we aren\'t there for each other. We have come a long way. It was the reunions, that took the monkey off of my back. A medic don\'t see his successes, because they are all evacuated. All that remains is the KIA and Medics are among the last to leave the battlefield. KIA must be cataloged, Tagged and Bagged. That is what comes home with a Medic. And, they all register as a loss or failure on a Medic\'s Part. We didn\'t have a Magic Wand, only basic first aid skills. That\'s not much to offer in these horriffic situations. Still, it was the best, that we could do. Thanks for the reunions, because I have been able to re-connect, with the successes. It really is good to realize, that there were so many. I had lived with only the losses for way far too long. These reunions really do help.

I am the son of Harold Lockwood and I am trying to gather information on this Memorial Day. He was KIA June 14, 1968 and was part of C Company. There is very little known about his circumstances and I am trying to find as much info as possible. If any of you remember a skinny kid from Troy, MT I would appreciate anything you can offer.

Served with 2-16 IN 1984-86 and 1-16 IN 1993-1994. The 16th is the finest regiment in the Army. I know an number of the Mud Soldiers from the Association and they are among the finest Soldiers I know. Great Americans, all. I encourage all former Rangers to rejoin their comrades by joining up with the Association at: http://16thinfassn.org/?page_id=40

Hi Joyce.
It is good to hear from you,.even if only on this web page. I for one, do not hold any hostilities toward you over any of the issues, that have apparently happened. Yes, Charlie is sick, very sick. However, as someone who has had to serve as a Medic, I still feel, that he needs Medical help, whether it be for his body or mind. You personally should come back to the reunions. There is still a lot of healing to be done. And that is for all of us. This reunion is truly a healing field. And, as someone, who was fundamental in it's origination, you still belong. And as your statement shows, in a round about way, this war has also affected you. Drop in and unload all of the hurt, that you have had to endure. God's Speed!
We don't go there to take sides on issues, only to heal and be with our brothers..
Your Friends
Dave and Carol Marchetti.

We were with Bravo Co. When Charlie got hit, we marched all night to get to our guys. In the morning when we went in it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my my life that day April 12, 1966. Its a day that will live with me forever. I'm so very sorry that families and loved ones had to suffer because of what happen on that horrible day so many years ago. PDSD changes who you are many never fine there way back, I was one of lucky ones. To all of you who had to deal what us after Vietnam you are the real hero's God bless you and watch over you,
