Hi, I am trying to locate the family in Scotland of my g-g-grandfather, William Chalmers. He came to Canada around 1830, and was married there in 1846 to Matilda Brown. What little I know of him is that his headstone in Canada lists his birthdate as 23 September, 1814, and it is believed he came from Aberdour. I have had someone look into this in Aberdeen, but the only William found is the son of a George Chalmers and Marjorie Laird. I see this William in your genealogy and wonder if it is fact my same William. My William named his children as follows ( in birth order) Jean Reath Chalmers (Jennie), Alexander, Annie, William (Jr.), Matilda G., George Thomas and Frederick Allen. Additionally, I am wondering about the middle name of Reath, and in a later generation the middle name of Sterling. Any information you could give me to help confirm this William would be of great interest to me. Thanks so much in advance for any assistance you can provide. Carol Stansell

Hi, I\'m researching my wife\'s family history in Scotland and some of her relatives (Thomas Stephen Jane Auld, etc) are buried in Fyvie Kirkyard, stone No 31. I saw on your page (not sure if its the same graveyard because it seems to be numbered differently) that you have some ancestors named Stephen. Just thought I\'d check if they are the same ancestors.

Hello Declan, I am Helen Wilson\'s grandson. Just a correction to your records about her. She actually married for the second time to John McGregor Stewart and not James Stewart.
Wish I cold find a website like yours about my family.

George Chalmers was born at Colton Square Glasgow in April 1815. He was the son of John, or affectionally called Lord Chalmers, wife unknown. Is there anyone willing to do a 1821? or 1831 census check for me please? Thanks for a great page.

I noticed on the page that came up of George Barclay, that it said he moved to Glenbogie, Oyne. It also said you were still corresponding with someone there. Can you tell me if this is a farm, or a village? My great grandfather Alexander Pirie died there in 1945. Thank you!

Hi Declan,
Great webpage on the Chalmers. Congrats. Have you ever come across a William Mullanny of 33 Maylor Street in Cork who murdered some members of his family in 1914? I am doing some research on this but cannot find anything - I came across the references you made to the Mullanny name and was wondering if you ever heard of them. Thanks Pat

I am researching my great grandfather William Chalmers, who I believe was born Sept. 23, 1814 in New Aberdour (formerly Aberdour Aberdeenshire). What I do know about him is that he married Mathilda Brown Nov. 30, 1846 in Boistown, New Brunswick, Canada. They had 6 Children, Jennie R., Alexander, William, Mathilda, Thomas, and Frederick. Most of those children moved to Cambridge MA and were living there in the early 1900's. If you have any information on this William, or can link him to the William (#1650) in your pages I would be very greatful!! Thanks so much for your help.
