I got my monthly newsletter from Night Shade Press, and what should I see but this notice!

Night Shade is kicking off a series reprinting Manly's pulp novels. The first two are due out in August, Giants from Eternity and Strangers on the Heights. $25 apiece for the trade editions, and there will be a 150 copy limited edition that will be a slipcased set of both books, bound in leather and with a matching ribbon bookmark, as well as additional art signed by the artist.

I guess the collected editions of the stories sold well enough to continue reprinting Wellman. This strikes me as fantastic - I'll pick up books I've already got for leather covers and ribbon bookmarks - I wish the collected stories had had ribbon bookmarks.

Does anyone know much about these two novels? I don't think they're Silver John novels. (Which is fine - it's easy enough to find the Silver John novels. His other work is the tough one to find.)

so Science Fiction.

and I hear through the grapevine, that we will need to start saving our pennies for 2005....


(hey, maybe they will get around to printing that biography of Obray Ramsey that Wellman wrote!)
