New rider

Hi Everyone,

I spent today test riding both the Dynamik and the Zenetik Tour.

I ended up ordering a Dynamik from Mt. Airy Bicycle shop in Maryland (www.bike123.com). The folks there were very friendly.

I can't wait until it gets here! At any rate, I'll be terrorizing Annapolis, MD -- say hey if you see me.

Re: New rider

Hi Mark,

Congratulations on ordering your Dynamik!

'Just out of curiosity, what sold you on the Dynamik, over the Z Tour?

The Dynamik's a great bike...very versatile, too.

You're going to love it!

Re: New rider

Geoff,

Both were excellent rides. The Tour was definitely a lighter bike and a bit faster climing and accelerating. But, both performed very well.

I plan to ride a variety of roads and light trails in my area so the wider tires were a plus and I found it easier to stand up on if needed. This will be my only bike so I felt it had the best flexibility.

Overall, these two were very close so I think the decision largely comes down to personal preference. If possible, I would recommend that folks try both before deciding.

Re: New rider

Hi Mark - welcome to the rapidly growing fold! You're going to love that bike! Do you ride the Seagull?

I live up in Owings Mills/Reisterstown area...

Re: New rider

Congrats on the new wheels! I get out to Maryland (to D.C. and Cambridge) every so often, if you can point to a good trail I would be much obliged. Thanks!

Re: New rider

Dan: I haven't ridden the Seagull but I'd love to do something like that after I get my legs built up. I broke my neck a few years ago in a snowboarding accident and haven't been doing much that is very physical. So, this bike is very exciting for me.

Randy: The NCRR trail just north of Baltimore is a great ride. I'll post more once I get my Dynamik and get out and about.

Re: New rider

Randy,

I agree with Mark - the NCR/YHT rocks - I try to ride it every weekend. I was
out there yesterday, it was a beautiful day to ride the trail! I'm fortunate
that I live about 20 minutes from the beginning of the Maryland portion. Here's
a website about the trail.
There are a number of trails around DC.
If you are in Cambridge - a little extra drive takes you to Assateague
Island
, which is a blast to bike. Next time you head this way, drop me an
email - I'd love to hook up with you...

Mark,

I'm the the same boat as you - I had to lay off biking for a couple of years
due to an injury, then I saw the Cruz and it was perfect. I'm having a blast.
Maybe next year we'll hook up for Seagull - we need a CF brigade. I'm probably
not in shape for this year - but we're going to take it slow - it's a great
ride.

Re: New rider

Thanks for the links, the Island ride looks the most fun. I will call you when back east.
