I'm especially interested in access to public transport, shops, and cultural areas rather than tourist heavy zones. While researching Apartments for sale in Athens I see wide price differences and varying building conditions, which makes it confusing to compare listings.

Are older renovated buildings better than new developments? What legal or tax issues should foreign buyers watch for?
