You can use a dressage girth but not the ones that look like mini normal girth you need one with a sort of overlap underneath the buckles, you should be able to get one from most big saddlers and some small ones. Let them know the normal size girth you want and you should be able to get one! If the saddle is for a small pony then the safari cub girth will be perfect and I got mine from Robinsons Country Leisure for just £10, where as a dressage girth (synthetic) can cost up to £25 depending where you shop.

can you help me??? i`ve just bought a gp blue/black wintec saddle through the internet not knowing that these type of saddles do not have normal saddle flaps,there are only two girth straps!!(it`s definetly not a dressage saddle).i`m not sure what type of girth to use as i`m sure a normal girth would dig in.thank you.rachel
