I guess I should not have used the word "distant" relative because according to my Mom your grandfather Eubie Gilbert was her uncle. Your mother Mabel was my Mom's first cousin which makes you my Mom's second cousin. My mother recall your mother/grandfather bringing you to Georgia when you were a little girl and that either your father or his brother wanted to take her or one of her siblings to Philly but my Mom's mother would not let them go because thought it was too far away. My grandmother's name was Magnolia Gilbert. She was your aunt. Any way, I just wanted to add this.
