Yes. The only way you can now bring a Foreign registered (even EU) Country vehicle to Spain, is to have it put through a 'Homologacion Individual' by IDIADA; which will set you back a cool 2000 euros. Other than bringing YOUR car, which you can prove you bought a minimum of 6 months before applying for Residencia, in which case it is then free of all duties such as Import tax etc.
