There are a couple of others but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I only have experience using Telefonica but if the others are anything like then expect to be tied into a 12/18 month contract with awful customer service should you need it, which no doubt you will at least once! (Call 1004 free from a Telefonica public phone and wait for the English option if you are interested in Telefonica.)

I must admit that once the service was installed and running I haven't had many problems with it. One thing that does annoy me is the way the monthly bill varies from month to month even if I do not use the phone! I've tried querying it but I might as well be banging my head on the wall. Another thing I've heard a lot of horror stories about is when/if you come to cancelling the service but I've yet to find out how true that is. My next customer service experience will be asking them to move my service to a new address.

Which ever company you choose you'd be wise to look for other people's experiences on the internet before signing on the dotted line.

I should add that I was able to get my Telefonica account set up using my UK passport number and without paying by Direct Debit, although I do now pay by DD, other companies, and indeed Telefonica now, may require you to have an NIE.

Re: internet

I presume you mean Internet via a fixed line using ADSL? If so then make sure your local exchange can deliver the signal. A friend of mine was told he could from Telefonica but he was too far from the exchange, and as Andy quite rightly points out, due to Telefonic's inept customer service it took him nearly two years to sort out.
He now has mobile broadband from Vodafone. Uses it on the move and at home via a great device called MiFi. Its like a router but distributes the signal from the SIM card so you can pick it up via WiFi on your laptop/netbook/phone. Check it out on...
