Fabulous results again!

The Freesia Group's 8th Annual Christmas Fair held at Chaplins/Christies, Salou, on Saturday 28th November, was another huge success!! This year it was bigger than ever as the Salou Ayuntamiento allowed us to close off the street to put up stalls. We were so lucky with the weather and the atmosphere was brilliant. Everyone had a good time and it was a super day out, especially for families.

There were commercial (who make a donation) and Freesia stalls selling British goods, clothing, jewellery, home-made produce, second-hand books, toys, Christmas gifts, decorations and cards, White Elephant, and many more. There was Tombola, Hoopla, a fabulous raffle, and Santa Claus was in his grotto where the children got their photos and a gift. There was hot food, a café with home made cakes, and a bar.

We raised over €6,300 and still counting, which surpassed last year’s amount, which is amazing considering the current economic climate. All the money raised will be divided between the three cancer charities in Spain supported by Freesia.

A super huge thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who helped to set up the Fair and assisted on the day. Thanks for all their efforts and hard work and for sacrificing so much of their valuable time to cook the home made produce, make handicrafts, collect the prizes for the raffle and tombola, put up posters, collect books, put up tents, decorate the venue, etc., etc.

Special thanks to Rob Maxted again for being such a brilliant presenter in the three languages and for keeping the “party” going.

Above all thanks once more to all the local businesses and individuals for their generous donations of prizes for the raffle and tombola.

Special thanks also to Mark and Chris for letting us use their venues again and for their generous donation.

Without your help the Eighth Christmas Fair would not have been a reality. Let’s hope there’ll be many more of them!
