Hi, we've just returned from two great weeks in Salou and the exchange rate offered on the last day was 1.09.
It may be too late for you to do now but this year I got a Fairfx prepaid Euro Mastercard which I used in restaurants etc. and to get cash from ATM's. Fairfx only charge €1.50 per withdrawal and I got a better exchange rate.
I topped up my card a couple of times via wifi on my phone while we were out there. I've always taken cash in the past but I'll use this way in the future as it is easy and safe to use.
