Can anyone tell me does the train from Salou to Barcelona have toilets. I am travelling with a young child who has not long been toilet trained and wouldn't be to keen on taking train I'd no toilets on board. Thank you.

Yes there are toilets on board. The trains are brilliant, very clean and air conditioned. The journey from Salou to Barcelona is lovely, the line runs right along the coast. If you get chance take the youngster to Barcelona Zoo, it's an amazing day out. Have a great holiday.

Where did you take the train from, from the BCN(Airport)? that is my main concern. I do not want to hop on a wrong train and go elsewhere... I know it does run along the coast. any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated I leave this Monday 26th of September

Unless this has recently changed you cannot go direct from El Prat-BCN to Salou. You have to get a train into central Barcelona and change.
Take the Barcelona Airport Train – The C2 to Estacio Sants. If you are arriving into Terminal 1 at El Prat you will not be able to walk straight to the train station. You will need to take a shuttle bus from outside the terminal.
At Estacio Sants you will need to change. There are an abundance of trains that run from Estacio Sants to Salou – some of these are regional and some of these are national. The trains vary in journey time – some stopping at many stations and some direct. Check here for details: -

thanks! by looking in the map it's going back up then back down the coast... I am trying to find the GPS coordinates of the station C2 Sants from there I can navigate myself from BCN to the Station and hop on these trains into Salou or can I take a taxi from BCN to the Stants Station? and from there hop on a train to Salou?

Yes... you will travel North into Barca before travelling South to Salou. A taxi to Sants will be expensive especially if it is anywhere near rush hour.
Why are you trying to find GPS co-ordinates of Sants? Get the train from El Prat airport to Sants. At Sants change to the train of your choice to Salou.
The slower trains (circa 90 minutes) will be cheaper and hug the coast for a great journey BUT they tend not to have buffet facilities so maybe stock up at Sants with some refreshments
