City Council needs knee pads?
Might be useful if they keep kissing the developers ass ends! fred |

Why the big hurry to make a decision that could cost thousands of people their jobs? What is harmed by waiting a few months? Tabling the 17 point plan is the first smart move this council has made. Let's study it some more and make informed decisions rather than knee-jerk reaction to an election wrongly percieved as a landslide. |

I don't believe that "thousands" would lose their jobs if Payson refuses to become an overdeveloped dump. In our society labor and businesses come and go. If you can't make a living in one business or an area you must simply move to a different economy. And one suspects much of the labor imported recently is of the variety that is used to moving. (To say nothing of the illegal aliens) Payson needs some affordable housing, no more land gobbling major subdivisions. If the Chamber of Commerce is effective it will seek and find clean high-tech enterprises that bring big tax revenues. Without that type of growth we indulge in an economic ponzi scheme of cheap labor, growth, poverty and more crime. Only those who can afford to flee their neighborhoods would not be impacted. As it stands now, several neighborhoods are enjoying "diversity" with longtime residents selling in the interest of personal safety. Fred |

Don't dodge the question, why the big hurry, what is the harm in waiting a few months so that we can gather data? That's all I see from this council, a very rational decision to find more data. |
