We the People
For those of you who did not vote for me, TUFF. Get over it! There is a new Sheriff in Town and things are going to change. I'm already tired of the whineing at town hall and the monthly public meetings. My agenda is straight forward and I have a mandate from the voters. Payson is not going to become another Prescott under my term. Development will slow down and the local contractors will just have to bite the bullet and share a little pain. We are not going to steal water from our neighbors just for private profits. So get on board or get out of the way. |

I love Payson, I don't think anyone would want to create a Prescott Valley out of Payson. I don't think it is possible Payson could ever become a Prescott Valley type area. First off Prescott has lots of available land and water and Payson is limited. Prescott has not kept its small town charm and Payson's Community Development Department (Main Street Redevelopment Area Program, Planning & Zoning, Building Division, and Housing Division) has an agenda to keep our small town charm even if we should get a Target Store. They have done a wonderful job to keep our towns charm. Remember, keeping a small town charm while providing better pay and benefits for the working class, better shopping, a growing economy, low cost housing, nice communities, lower taxes, and more town benefits depend on growth. With no growth some business will close and new ones will never come, pay goes down as well benefits, there is more unemployment, taxes need to go up or service need to go down, and with the by pass coming in the future just being a tourist town will not be good. Now I know that the word “growth” may not sound good but 100,000 people and businesses is not possible within the Town of Payson (As you know, Payson is limited by its boundary size, number of building sites, and water). Our inevitable town growth should be done correctly by keeping its small town charm. Who knows how things will be if our present Payson's Community Development Department is dismantled due to a no growth policy.

This new Mayor really scares me. He has surrounded himself with sycophants and yes men. I have lived here for 10 years in Payson. It seems the Mayor and council are more worried about our neighbors than looking out for us in Payson. |

Barbie Brewer had her time in office...AND IT'S OVER! We saw who it was that pulled her strings...MONEY GRUBBING carpetbaggers who would sell their own mother to make a quick buck. Go sulk in the corner, BarbieLovers. Your reign of overdevelopment has come to a screeching halt. Deal with it!

Just like the cowards on the the so called water task force, you don't want to use your name. You are probably one of the handpicked lap dogs of the mayor. Or, maybe you are the mayor. He's arrogant, dictitorial, and vindictve. It's all his way or no way. I have heard that the hammer is about to fall on his task force scam. |

Tell the Mayor about the illegals at a town meeting and suggest he form a task force to study it and make recommendations to him and the council. See what kind of a response you get. |

"So get on board or get out of the way." So, no dissenting opinion is tolerable? What happened to democratic (read republic) representation? Mandate? last time I checked a very large percentage of the electorate vote against this administration. I'd hardly call 55-60% of the vote a mandate. Particulary in an environment where a large number of the people who depend on Payson's economy for a job, but have no right to vote in the elections. Would the election have turned out the same if the working people in Mesa Del, Pine, Strawberry, Oxbow and Gisela could have voted? |
