Sun CF Ride
As you know I am in Anchorage AK. Yesterday I stopped by a LBS to get a map of Anchorage bike trails. This is a bike friendly town. The shop had several Sun recumbent bikes including a trike and a CF. I rode the CF because I didn't know they made one and I was just curious to see how it handled. Randy you have no competition here but on the other hand for $400.00 it is an OK bike . |

Jim I have (or had) both the sun CF and a Cruz. You are right it is a not bad bike. I have a basket on mine and use it for dog training and shopping and chores. Its a great thing to have but I don’t love it on a longer ride. The quality is also shaky. Somehow a bolt broke on the coaster brake and a big piece came off and the back tire came off while i was riding. If I had been on a hill or worse one of the narrow bridges here, I would have probably gotten hit by a car when I went down. A sun rep came to the LBS to see it and replaced it right away and told us that the frame had been compromised and was not safe to repair. In all my years of biking i have never had something like that happen. I will still use the new one but I wont be taking it down any hills or in heavy traffic, I am sure the new one will be fine but it will make me a little nervous now I think. Kalinka |
