Technical questions re: 700X/Dynamik geometry / trail?

I'm considering a 700X or Dynamik (see my other message about tire clearance) and have a few geometry questions. Not a lot of info on the Rans website beyond overall length and wheelbase. I do understand that geometry figures for CF may not be directly comparable to the same figure for DF, and some figures like effective top tube leng th would be hard to calculate at all.

Although the 700X and Dynamik have longer wheelbases than DF bikes, they're closer to traditional DF bikes than LWB 'bents, so it seems to me trail figures might be reasonably comparable. Does anyone know the actual head angle (or trail - I can calculate one from the other) of these bikes with the various fork offerings? I hope to also get in a test ride (at Coventry Cycles n Portland) during the next week or two, but the trail figure alone should give me some insights into how these bikes handle.

Also, does anyone know the chainstay length or front-center measurement? (Knowing one, I can calculate a good approximation of the other). I'm mostly interested for purposes of toe clearance, especially with the variety of wheel/tire combinations I might be interested in.

Finally, does anyone know the BB height or BB drop? This is mostly a clearance question for offroad riding. Obviously the long wheelbase will result in far more chainring and pedal strikes than a DF bike in even moderately technical terrain, but I am curious.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Technical questions re: 700X/Dynamik geometry / trail?

The fork trails about 4" on the Dynamik, with head angle at 66. From BB to rear wheel is approx. 28". The geometry of the frame requires to place the toes as close as possible, and with some overlap, to allow the bars to be in easy reach. This still means you will see less front wheel weight, so the feel of the bike is light and responsive, most like the handling, and take to the bikes very quickly, nil to no learning curve.

Hope you have a chance to test ride one or more of our CF line up soon.

Re: Technical questions re: 700X/Dynamik geometry / trail?

Thanks for the reply, Randy. I did get to my Rans dealer yesterday, but they don't have anything in stock currently. They do plan to order some more Fusions, so when those come in I'll at least be able to get a ballpark idea of how these bikes feel. Should be enough to get some concept of whether CF is for me or not, and I'll bear in mind that a Dynamik should be substantially zippier in the handling department.

Wow, 66 degrees and 4" trail sounds choppered out compared to what I'm used to -- when I've put longer forks on my mountain bikes, putting the trail in the 85-90mm range, the wheel flop started to get out of control and made the bikes a real handful on technical singletrack -- but I'm open minded enough to try it out. Besides, technical terrain is not the primary intended purpose of a CF for me anyway, and the reduced weight on the handlebars might avoid wheel flop problems anyway. Can't wait to try it out, and I'll report back when I have.
