CF Converts
This past Sunday my brother and his wife, Kelly, accompanied my family on a ride. I was pulling my daughter on her Trets with my Rans V2, and my older daughter wanted to ride my Dynamik, so there was an extra Fusion available. I suggested to Kelly that she might enjoy riding it. We went on a casual 16 mile ride on our local Cardinal Greenway. The first thing I noticed was that Kelly was keeping up much better than she normally did on her DF MTB. We also didn't have to stop as much as we often do when she rides with us. When we finished the ride, she said it was the first time she had ridden in years without being in pain! My brother has been wanting to get her a better bike but she has been telling him that she didn't see any reason to change from her MTB. Later that evening when he suggested she needed a bike like the Fusion, she said, "That would be really nice." Then yesterday, it was 70 and sunny and I was planning on doing a fast 50 mile ride but my brother wanted to go with me. Now my brother has really gotten into biking since I got him a Raleigh comfort bike last fall (his first LBS bike). He lost 75 pounds last year and is wanting to stay fit. I appreciate his enthusiasm but I knew he couldn't handle a 50 mile ride at my pace, so I was a little bummed. I got the idea to have him try out the Dynamik hoping it would help him ride a little farther and a little faster. It did! We rode 36 miles at a 14mph average. He had never ridden over 20 miles in his life (he's 55). Oh, by the way, my 11 year old had a great time on the Dynamik Sunday. I had been letting her ride my Fusion and while she liked it, she wasn't completely sure it was better than her Diamondback hybrid. She would gladly take over my Dynamik though.
