hybrid budwiser cans with coors tops
please e-mail with any info Hello fello can collectors! I am a life-long collector in AZ (IN transplant). I recently came across some dumpers (but treasures) in the AZ desert just W of Tucson. These were, at first "Coors", with the familiar "big round hole, little round hole". However, they are Budweisers!?! They are c. 1975 based on the history of the ruins and vagabond activity. -Steel can and bottom; AL "Coors top" -UPC bar-code. -I've got pictures of these, again "dumpers" anyone iterested I'm confused. I'd love to know any history. Any insight on how this happened? Thanks, Michael Still a lot of steel cans laying around out here! A-1's especially mliberti@cox.net |

I had in my collection a 24 can case of Budweiser that had 24 different tops. Included was what you refered to as a Coors top. I was told by St Louis thar the brewery was testing different type pull tops & other types. Some of the "New" tops were put out in test markets and your can most likely came from that. The year 1973 fits right in. Hope this helps Ed Nichols |
