Winnepeg Pool Flood

This recent 'weather' thread reminds me of a query I've been intending to
post: Does anyone have information about the Winnepeg Pool flood (in the Coombe
area of St. Stephen's in Brannel). In researching Yelland ancestors who
lived at Court Mills in the 1800s, I came across a quote in a collection of
reminisences, this one by a former resident of Court Mill:

"I'm not sure when Winnepeg Pool burst its banks and sent torrents of
water down through Court Mill and Coombe Valley, but I remember looking out my
bedroom window to see a wave of clay sweeping everything away...This tidal wave
came at night; it was all over in a few hours, leaving complete devastation
to Court Mill."

Does anyone know what year this event happened? Perhaps in the early 1900s?
Thanks, Liz S.
