Timberbush Visitors' Forum

Welcome to our Forum. Feel free to post a message or a question. We welcome your comments and we love to hear your feedback - so do our guides.

At Timberbush we respect our customers but also our competitors. We understand that you want to compare and contrast your tour experiences and that's important. But  we don't believe in "discrediting" our competitors in order to try to win a customer.  That's why, although we would never edit a customer's comments, we may choose to remove messages mentioning other tour operators' names.

We've always  believed that customers are free to make up their own minds and we're confident that our tours will speak for themselves.

So in the spirit of solidarity, we say, "Vive La Difference !"  and,  "Happy Touring!" from all at Timberbush.

You don't have to post only on TIMBERBUSH or our TOURS. It can be about Scotland;  its history or its culture. It can be anything about Scotland.  If we can't answer a question we will find someone who can!

Or maybe it's a discussion or debate you want to start?

Three day Skye trip - 17 April

Went on the trip with Colin as driver, raconteur, comedian, lecturer, and general fount of all knowledge. Colin you made the trip for us! It was even great on the cold, wet, gale day when you introduced us to the Old Man and the Broch. The trip was one of the highlights of our overseas trip and we were away for 8 weeks so you really made a great impression. We will be recommending you and Timberbush to everybody we know. Our son is a travel agent in Edinburgh and he has been asked by us to recommend you to any of his clients as well. The main drawback on the trip is that Cheryl now has a taste for haggis and we can't get it in New Zealand (export opportunity?)
Our thanks and congratulations on a great trip. Timberbush - he deserves a raise (Colin you now owe me the agreed fee for saying that)
All the best - Grant & Cheryl Nicholson

Re: Three day Skye trip - 17 April

Hello to Colin and Grant and Cheryl,

I was also on this April 17th Isle of Skye Tour. I was not on any other tours of this duration, was only on several two-hour and a single one-day red bus tours. That said, this was hands down the best tour of my 7-week vacation to ROI, NI, Scotland, Wales and England. Colin was very deliberate, passionate, knowledgeable, and in some cases dramatic in his telling of the Scottish history associated with the places we visited. The MacDonalds-Campbells Glencoe story is a perfect example. We were also treated to the music and culture of Isle of Skye, as well as an insight to the thinking and values of present day Scots. There were many photo-ops along the way, many vistas on mountainsides overlooking lochs, seaside clifs, waterfalls, gorges, and of course that one Faerie Glen. We also visited castles, including Dunvegan and Eilean Donan. I cannot remember all the places we went, it's now a blur of pleasant memories and memorable photos.

All my best to Timberbush and Colin for an unforgetable tour. Sincerely,

Jim McNamara

Re: Three day Skye trip - 17 April

As another traveller on this tour, Colin gets my vote as the best tour guide anywhere. I have been travelling now for nearly 4 months and I have been taking many tours of varying lengths. The Isle of Skye tour with Colin is the one at the top of the list. Colin's knowledge and presentation makes the tour more like a living story. Unforgettable. Many thanks again Colin.

regards

Lyn (Australia)
